Palliative Care

Palliative care may be recommended to relieve side effects and symptoms for patients who are undergoing treatment aimed at curing illness. Palliative care helps to optimize quality of life and relieve suffering and pain.

Our Palliative care program includes pain and symptom management for a variety of diagnosis as well as emotional and spiritual support, as desired.  Our expertise is invaluable to the patient seeking comfort and cure.

Our Palliative care team includes:  home health aides, physical/speech/occupational therapists, registered nurses, social worker and chaplains.  Patients and families can choose services which are important to them and may also decline any services if unwanted.  All services are provided under the direction of the patient’s attending physician.

Palliative care can be provided in the patient’s home, assisted and independent living facilities, and is a wonderful enhancement to other home health care services.

Palliative care is covered under the home health Medicare benefit as well as the home health benefit of insurance companies as long as benefit criteria are met.  Self-pay is an option and no patient will be refused due to inability to pay.
